The column also symbolically depicts the church's struggle with Satan, built during the counter-reformation offensive, it shows figures of saints, interceding in prayer. The column was thus a propaganda tool, intended to strengthen the Catholic faith and ideologically fight against Protestantism. It was erected in 1736, and its construction was not only an act of gratitude but also an expression of the deep faith of the inhabitants in divine protection and hope for a better future.
The column is the work of the talented Silesian sculptor – Anton Jörg. Built of sandstone, it stands out with an extraordinary richness of sculptures and intricate details that catch the eye. At the top, amidst clouds and rays, the HolyTrinity proudly rises: God the Father enthroned among clouds, the Eucharistic Lamb as the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. Below, Maria Immaculata, standing on the globe and crescent moon, overcomes evil, and Archangel Michael, trampling the devil, depicts the church's struggle with Satan. On the richly decorated pedestals, we can admire full-figure statues of patron saints who were meant to protect the city from misfortunes: Saint Florian, Saint John of Nepomuk, Saint Francis Xavier. It was to them that the inhabitants offered their prayers for the cessation of misfortunes and salvation.
